How do you build credibility?
Here are a few strategies to put into play:
Meet with each of your team individually and discuss what they do, what they want from you, and how you can support them.
Set expectations at a team meeting. Once you’ve had your one-on-ones, come up with a plan of action and share it with the team. Tell them what you are going to do and what you expect them to do in return.
If you get push-back, don’t ignore it, act on it. Remind them of the meeting and the new expectations. Others will be watching to see if you are “for real.” Be real.
