What’s the first word that comes to mind when you hear the word conflict?
Disagreement? Dispute? Clash? Argument? What? did you say someone's name?
If you associate conflict with a person there might be trouble on your team. Is there is a person(s) who spends a bit too much time gossiping, placing blame on others or even undermining others?
If so, you need to deal with it.
Remind your group of your expectations and the need to respect others in the workplace. Tell them they don’t all have to like each other BUT they do have to work together and behave appropriately.
Today, switch your thinking. Aim to think of the word conflict as a means to conversation. Notice the problems and turn them into a reason to sit down and find solutions. Your staff will appreciate it and appreciate you.
